Expect a Busy Weekend for Texas Holiday Travelers

If you’re heading out on the highway this Thanksgiving weekend, you can expect a lot of company, as over 3 million Texans are expected to on the road.

AAA Texas says this year, travel is expected to surpass last years numbers by 1.6 percent. Group spokeswoman Rhonda Wilson said the higher number of travelers is related to a rising confidence this year about the improving economy.

AAA defines the holiday travel period as round trips of 50 miles or more from Wednesday through Sunday.
