We reported a while back that the number of eligible voters registering to vote in the Presidential election hit new highs in the state, and when it comes to early voting, records are being set here in Victoria county.

County Elections Administrator George Matthews says early voters set records both Monday and Tuesday this week. 1,409 voters came out Monday and 1,519 cast their ballots yesterday.

That trend is consistent statewide, as officials say a number of Texas counties are breaking early voting records.

Early voting continues at the Victoria County Elections Office at 2805 N. Navarro St.
