As we've previously reported, a new 'Frankenstein' movie adapted from Mary Shelley's classic novel is in the works from 20th Century Fox with Max Landis penning and Paul McGuigan directing. Hopefully one of the next steps will be gathering up some big names to fill in the lead roles, but we're sure that won't be a problem, especially considering that 'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe has reportedly expressed interest in portraying a lead part... but which one?

Seems like Daniel Radcliffe can't stay away from the supernatural film genre. The Wrap reveals that sources close to the casting process for 'Frankenstein' have reportedly received word from Mr. Potter that he is looking to trade in his wand for a hunchback. Don't think he'll be as funny as Marty Feldman in 'Young Frankenstein,' but maybe that's probably not what the studio is looking for anyway.

The screen adaptation of the novel of the same name will reportedly lean more on the sci-fi aspect of the story, focusing on a creature created through a lab experiment. The role Radcliffe supposedly wants is described as "pathologically dirty and dressed in old clowns clothing."

Casting has yet to begin on 'Frankenstein,' and the priority as of this point is finalizing the script. Hopefully this will happen soon and we'll know whether to expect Radcliffe in this new role.

What do you think? Would you like to see Daniel Radcliffe become the newest Igor character? If not, who else do you think would be good for the part? Sound off in the comments!
