Former New England Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez has committed suicide while in prison.

Authorities discovered Hernandez dead in his cell this morning. He apparently had died by hanging.

Hernandez was serving life without parole for the murder of Odin Lloyd and was recently acquitted on double murder charges stemming from an incident at a night club a few years ago.
