We’re always on the lookout for cool Van Halen covers, but this one took us by surprise. Brad Paisley made his name in country music, taking home several Grammys while selling more than 12 million albums -- but that doesn't mean he can't jam. Watch as he rolls up his sleeves, fires off a bunch of classic rock riffs and then dives headlong into 'Hot for Teacher.'

Challenged by Dee Jay Silver, who played snippets of the tracks onstage before a raucous crowd in Camden, N.J., recently, Paisley flawlessly tore through the riffs from Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama,' AC/DC's 'Black in Black,' the Eagles' 'Life in the Fast Lane,' Deep Purple's 'Smoke on the Water,' Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger,' Eric Clapton's 'Cocaine,' Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child of Mine' (which received the biggest ovation) and Dire Straits' 'Money for Nothing' before he launched into a spirited, full-length take on 'Hot for Teacher.'

Paisley and band don't repeat David Lee Roth's spoken-word come-ons, but the song's sing-along chorus shows just how much passion these country guys have for music outside of their chosen musical genre. At one point, Paisley also played the familiar opening moments from Eddie Van Halen's Michael Jackson collaboration, 'Beat It.'

Paisley has been rocking for a while. He joined the Rolling Stones onstage at a 2013 stop in Philadelphia, sitting in for 'Dead Flowers.' He also performed with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler on the recent CMA 2014 Country Christmas.

This in-concert classic-rock medley, complete with the 'Hot for Teacher' climax, was performed in Tampa, too. Paisley has even invited a crazy-talented six-year-old to join in the fun, tearing through the Van Halen favorite on 'Good Morning America' last year.
