Bloomington ISD officials decided to call off last night's scheduled football game against Santa Gertrudis Academy, due to possible violence related to an incident Thursday. The Bobcats officially forfeited the game as well.

The fears came from a fight between two students on Thursday, and also over a possible drive-by shooting that night, which officials say may not have even occurred, but they are still investigating. Sheriff's officials say the fight between two Bloomington High School students happened before any possible shooting, and was not considered a criminal offense.

The game will go in the books as a 2-0 win for Santa Gertrudis Academy and up their record to 6-1, 1-1 in district, while Bloomington falls to 2-5 on the season, 0-2 in district play.

Bloomington officials say they do expect the team to be back in action October 31st against Odem.
