The Houston Astros relied on great pitching from Lance McCullers and a key homer from George Springer to beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 yesterday.

McCullers' solid outing resulted in 10 strikeouts in 7 innings, allowing only 5 hits in the game. George Springer belted one in the 5th inning to put the 'Stros ahead for good, his 19th on the season.

The win bumped the Astros back into 2nd place over the Mariners, who they face again tonight at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
