Arnold Schwarzenegger appearing in a new action film isn’t exactly surprising news, but it’s always exciting. And his latest project should make plenty of you (including ScreenCrush’s resident expert / #1 Arnold fan Matt Singer) quite happy, as the actor and former Governator has signed on to star in an action comedy that also happens to mark the directorial debut of SNL’s Taran Killam.

THR reports that Schwarzenegger is set to star in Why We’re Killing Gunther (that title!), an action comedy that boasts a killer supporting cast, including Killam, Bobby Moynihan, Cobie Smulders, Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani, The Interview’s Randall Park, Paul Brittain and Ryan Gaul. Even better? This amazing plot description:

The story tells of a group of eccentric international assassins who become fed up with Gunther, the world’s greatest hitman who also happens to be an arrogant show-off, and decide to kill him. Their master plan, however, quickly turns into a series of embarrassing encounters as Gunther always appears one step ahead.

Schwarzenegger will play Gunther, obviously, and it’s a role that sounds tailor-made for him. A veteran badass outsmarts his younger competition — is this a biopic?

Killam will direct the film from his own screenplay, and production is expected to begin this summer, which means we’ll probably get to buy a ticket (or 10) to see Why We’re Killing Gunther sometime in 2017.
