It might sell more papers to say that the members of Aerosmith are feuding, but the members of the band insist that a recent New York Post report alleging dissension in their ranks is way off base.

The story, published last week in the paper's Page Six gossip column, described Aerosmith's current 'Global Warming' tour as being "in chaos" and said the members of the band were "barely speaking to each other," blaming disappointing sales for their new 'Music from Another Dimension!' album as well as frontman Steven Tyler's solo aspirations -- and the showbiz dreams of Tyler's fiancee.

Guitarist Joe Perry debunked the rumors during a recent appearance on the Sirius/XM show 'Eddie Trunk Live,' chuckling that "It must have been a slow news week."

Continued Perry, "We were wondering, 'Who's saying this?' and 'Why are they saying this?' It's totally wrong and irrelevant. The least they could have done was get [the facts] right...[The people they quoted] haven't have anything to do with the band in 10 or 12 years. The band is getting along better than ever. We were thinking about [releasing a statement], but then why even validate it by even answering?"

The report sounds like it was correct in at least one respect -- with just a couple of weeks left on the band's current tour itinerary, the members of Aerosmith will soon be heading their separate ways for a spell, with Perry making plans for what he described as "solo stuff," including an upcoming book. But if you missed them this time around, never fear -- Perry hopes to have the band back on the road next summer.
