Amid a swirl of terrible news, it might be difficult to recall that AC/DC is about to release 'Rock or Bust,' the band's first studio effort in six years.

Still, plans are moving ahead for the release, with an entirely appropriate site selected to launch the album -- an Australian town actually called The Rock, population 3,000.

'Rock or Bust' will premiere in its entirety there on Nov. 23, nine days before the official release date on Dec. 2. "It's fantastic for the town," a local tourist official said, in a moment of great understatement.

The new AC/DC album arrives after the group lost founding rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young to dementia. Stevie Young filled in during the Vancouver sessions, and will appear with the group on tour. Then, earlier this week, drummer Phil Rudd was arrested in a murder-for-hire scheme, charges that have since been reduced. He wasn't part of AC/DC's first post-Malcolm Young photo or video shoot.

'Rock or Bust' follows 'Black Ice,' which debuted at No. 1 in 31 countries in 2008. 'Play Ball,' the first single from 'Rock or Bust,' was released in October.
