Honestly, this post wouldn't be necessary if I didn't see accident after accident nearly on a daily basis here in Victoria. I know a good portion of you drivers are OK and follow traffic lights and speed limits like the rest of us but for the love of God there are still plenty of you out there who, I assumed, won their drivers license in some sort of lottery or raffle.

OK let's start with the basics:

This is your standard basic red light. It means stop plain and simple. If you are approaching a light that doesn't look like this but quickly turns to this color, it also means stop. Not "I have 3 seconds left to get through this intersection" because you're wrong and really wrong. Not only that but you put the people with this color light

In jeopardy.

This color light ...

Well if you see this color light go ahead and begin to stop or else you wind up as one of the accidents I referred to earlier. Trust me, I've seen it happen. Don't try to beat it because chances are you are still 1/4 of a mile away and I'm not interested becoming part of the next Fast and Furious movie.....and you are NOT Vin Diesel. So just slow down and wait for the light for God's sake.

Join us next time kiddos where we will be talking about "right of way" and how you should probably grab a driver handbook and look up that term because I can tell you by experience there are plenty of you who have no clue what it means.

Until next time Uncle Dave says "Drive safe".
