Chalk another one up for the Victoria Generals, who picked up a 7-2 win last night over the Texas Marshals. Outstanding pitching paved the way for the Generals' 3rd win in a row, with Kyle Keller setting a season high with 12 strikeouts.

Keller dominated the Marshals lineup as he allowed just one earned run on a solo home run by former General Michael McGraw in the fourth inning.  Keller tossed six innings and allowed just four hits in the game to pick up his second win of the season.

The Generals handed Keller a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.  J.B. Moss lined an RBI double over the centerfielder’s head to score Frank Cloutier before coming around to score on a J.D. Arrowood RBI single to left field.

McGraw launched his solo home run over the scoreboard in left field in the top of the fourth for the Marshals.  McGraw played for the Generals back in 2011.

The Generals answered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.  After loading the bases with two outs, Alvaro Rondon and Romeo Cortina drew back-to-back walks to score Moss and Arrowood.  Drew Featherston then came into score on a wild pitch to make the score 5-1.

The Marshals added an unearned run in the sixth inning on a throwing error by Generals centerfielder Frank Cloutier.

The Generals tacked on two insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI double by Jacob Hubert down the third base line to score Cloutier and an RBI single by Arrowood to score Hubert to extend the lead to 7-2.

Andrew Walked tossed two scoreless innings with two strikeoutsand Kaleb Keith closed things out in the ninth to secure the Generals 7-2 win.

Cortina, Moss, Arrowood, and Featherston each had two hits in the game for the Generals as they extended their winning streak to three games.

With the win, the Generals get back to .500 on the season at 26-26 overall.  They are now 9-13 in the second-half.  The Marshals fall to 17-36 overall and 8-15 in the second-half.

The Marshals and Generals will meet again tonight for game two of the series.  Tonight is also Faith & Family Night, presented by Klean Corp. International.  The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a rally towel courtesy of the Sportsman’s Church.  There's also  a pregame concert featuring Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders starting at 5:30.  Game time is 7:05pm.
