We've all done it. It's a part of human nature. No matter how hard the ladies try and deny it, they're just as guilty and sometimes just as deadly. I'm talking about everyone's favorite bodily bi-product.....farts. Silent but deadly all the way to full on pants cannon we've all had to at some point. And as I said ladies, I've known a few girls who fart like Clydesdales and I know I'm guilty of letting the occasional stink bomb fly that sounds like a bat hitting a leather couch but here are 11 things you may not know about farts.

1. Farts get their noxious smell from just 1% of the gas you expel.

2. On average, you’ll pass about half a liter of gas a day.

3. Fourteen is the magic number when it comes to breaking wind. (Times per day on average)

4. Some of the food that cause flatulence are good for you. Cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, beans, broccoli, cabbage, and bran are the most common culprits. Fructose, the sugar found in fruit, and dairy products also cause more flatulence.

5. Yes, some foods also cause smellier farts. Some food and drink, like eggs and meat, can cause stinkier farts because they are rich in sulfur.

6. Farts have been clocked at speeds of up to 10 feet per second.

7. Ladies, you’re just as guilty as the gentlemen when it comes to ripping one. (Women produce the same amount of flatulence as men.)

8. Believe the hype. Flatulence is flamable.

9. Passing gas too much? You can fix that. (Take your time when you eat smaller meals, stay calm, exercise, and you’re golden!)

10. There’s a reason not all farts sound the same. (Variety is the spice of life, right? Flatulence varies in sound due to a variety of factors, namely, the amount of gas, the force at which it is expelled, and the tightness of the sphincter muscles.)

11. Holding in farts IS NOT dangerous to your health. But it can cause uncomfortable cramps and bloating.

12. All the humans that have ever lived have released approximately 17 quadrillion farts. EVER.
